Amanda Gordon is a wildlife artist specializing in native british wildlife and birds, working in watercolour and pencil. Self taught, Amanda undertook wildlife and pet portraiture commissions for several years before concentrating on the wildlife watercolours she now produces.
Amanda now lives on the Hampshire/Surrey border by the Basingstoke Canal and is constantly inspired by the wildlife she can see visiting her garden and in the nearby countryside. Previously she lived in Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire where she was fortunate enough to be able to watch hares boxing and running in the fields opposite her kitchen window, and thus developed her love of these wild, shy creatures.
As an artist, Amanda has always been fascinated by the sense of movement and the harmony of light and colour between the wildlife and their environment, and it is this relationship she seeks to capture in her paintings.
