Caitlin's work is currently focused on exploring natural forms in an abstract way, as she creates fractal images to then base her work on. She adds an element of dimension to her work by including texture in her paintings by mixing different fibres into the acrylic paint. Metallic paints and iridescent layers are incorporated into the paintings to create different effects due to the lighting in which the image is seen, adding a layer of depth to her work. Her style reflects a lot of graphic work, which is very reflective of her education, and she hopes to study graphic design more in the near future.
Caitlin mainly works in oil or acrylic paint and has recently started to experiment more with different textured effects, exploring the different properties the various mediums contain. She takes pleasure in mixing different mediums together in her work, in the same way that she enjoys mixing elements of abstract art with more realistic representation of form to create a more unique style.
