Dan's current work is inspred by his love of being outdoors, traveling and exploring on his mountain bike for new scenes to paint.
In his own words..
Normally I work from a biro sketch or a black and white photo, as I like to use quite vibrant colour and not be distracted by the actual colours of nature. I like to use the dramatic effect of light against dark and hot colours, even in a winter landscape. I paint most days and like to work for around four hours at a time before taking a break. Where I live in Hampshire there are lots of beautiful woodland scenes that inspre me to pait through the different seasons.
I was taught by the very succesful and well known artist Terry Harrison, he taught me the basics of drawing and planning before paint touches the canvas.
