Howard’s work has sometimes been described as a modern look at a traditional scene.
Howard spends time in the West Country and abroad to gain inspiration for his art. Italy, and particularly, Venice provide the intense contrasts of light and shade captured in his work. Howard makes wonderful use of light play on water and reflection off solid structures. He has been selected for exhibition by the Royal Society of Marine Artists and by the Guild of Aviation Artists.
Howard is largely self taught but he spent seven years, prior to becoming a professional artist, working in graphic design.
